How to Overcome a Creative Block
How to Overcome a Creative Block
It's great working in a creative industry, but even the most creative of minds can’t stay inspired all the time. Check out these quick-fire tips to get your creative juices flowing again
1. Did someone say lunch?
You need to free up some space to think, so take a few deep breaths without worrying about the looming deadline. Just get out of your studio and take time to go get lunch.
(our personal fav is local sandwichery - Sandwich Sandwich)
2. Get Away From the Mac!
Step away from your computer, and try get those creative juices flowing again. If you’re visually minded, try picking up a pen and paper and try sketching. Sometimes sitting behind a screen can stifle creativity and stop the flow of ideas.
3. Mind Map
If you get overwhelmed and aren’t sure which direction to go in at a crossroads, it can be very helpful to start jotting down some ideas on a mind map. Even the bad ideas can lead to good ideas in the end!
4. Shake It Up:
Try thinking from a different environment, you can find inspiration from the most unusual of places! Go work in a different space, it can help you see things differently. Physical activity can also help focus your mind, so grab your trainers and take a run. It may seem like you are spending time you don’t have, but you’ll be more productive when you are focused.

5. Ignore the rules:
Stop thinking, "I can’t do that", and start breaking free from the brief rules! It may help you come at it with a new angle. If nothing else, you will feel refreshed with a new wave of creative wave.
